Community Guidelines
Last updated: June 27, 2026
Bard Society works because members make each other braver. We share unfinished, personal stories on camera and trust the community to respond with care. These Guidelines keep that trust intact. They are part of our Terms of Service, and breaking them can lead to removal from the Society.
The critic’s code
Every critique should be:
- Specific — name the exact moment, line, or choice. Vague praise doesn’t help.
- Kind — you’re talking to someone who just made themselves vulnerable.
- Useful — leave them knowing exactly what to try next.
Critique the work, never the person. Disagreement is welcome; contempt is not.
Respect people’s privacy
- Only record yourself, or people who have clearly consented to being recorded and shared.
- Don’t share another member’s video, name, or story outside the Society.
- Treat the personal details people reveal in their stories as confidential to this community.
Keep it safe and lawful
The following are not allowed anywhere on the Service:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted abuse;
- Hate speech or attacks based on identity;
- Sexually explicit content, or content that sexualizes minors;
- Graphic violence, self-harm promotion, or dangerous misinformation;
- Content that infringes copyright or passes off someone else’s story as your own;
- Spam, scams, or attempts to manipulate scores and progression.
Own your story
Tell stories that are true to you. Don’t misrepresent others’ experiences as your own, and give credit where a story or idea isn’t yours to claim.
Reporting & enforcement
If you see a video or critique that breaks these Guidelines, flag it or contact our moderators. Moderators and admins may hide content, remove critiques, pause progression, or suspend accounts to keep the community healthy. We aim to be fair and proportionate, and to explain our decisions where we can.
